Who we are

SW Connect is a trading name of SoWatt Energy Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15882037. Registered office: 223-225 High Street, Epping, Essex, CM16 4BL. SoWatt Energy Ltd is the controller of the personal data collected through this website.

Questions about this policy, or about your data, go to info@so-watt.co.uk.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, company, phone number and your message. When you email or call us, we keep a record of that correspondence.

Our website host keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.

We do not ask for sensitive personal data and we ask you not to send it.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry and prepare any proposal you ask for. To manage our relationship with you if you become a client, partner or supplier. To keep this website secure.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you. We only send marketing emails if you ask for them, and every email lets you unsubscribe.

Our lawful basis

We rely on our legitimate interests in replying to business enquiries and running our business. Where you ask us to prepare a proposal or enter into an agreement, we rely on taking steps at your request before a contract. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Who we share it with

Only with the providers that help us run the business, such as our website host, email and customer relationship management systems, under contracts that protect your data.

Where you ask us to progress a proposal, we share what is needed with the partners who deliver it, for example funders, installers or our licensed supply partner. We will also share data where the law requires it.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of our providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as a UK adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years after our last contact. Client and contract records are kept for as long as the relationship lasts and then for up to seven years, to meet legal and tax requirements.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask us to move it to another provider. Email info@so-watt.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first and we will put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
